First Night 2015
PICK UPS BEGIN JUNE 11 for Full Share Members and Half Share Members Who Have been assigned to the Green Weeks. Half Share Members, Assigned to Yellow Weeks begin picking up June 18.
This year's pick ups begin on Thursday, June 11th for Full Share Members. Half Share Members, you'll be getting a separate email with the date of your first pick up, and the dates of the following pick-ups as well.
* We want to remind everyone that while vegetable shares were available as half shares, ALL other shares (Fruit, Flowers, Eggs) were only available as full shares, and must be picked up every week (even if you are not getting vegetables that week).
If anyone, Full or Half Share member, cannot pick up any of your shares on a given week, you'll be able to USE OUR ONLINE FORUM to try to find another member who might want it. Otherwise, you can always feel free to have a friend or family member pick it up in your absence.
HOW DO I PICK UP MY SHARE?
When you arrive, you can collect your share in the cafeteria of PS 56, by entering on Downing St, between Gates and Putnam. You'll see our banner outside. Come in between 5:00 and 7:30pm, and sign in for your vegetable share at the front table.
You'll collect each kind of produce from a labeled bin, taking the share in your own bags and containers. If you have signed up for an additional share (flowers, fruit, or eggs), you'll need to sign in at the table where that share is located. If you have any questions about the vegetables, ask one of your fellow CSA members, who'll be volunteering behind the tables. You can also ask a Core Member, as many of us will be there on the first night.
Please be on time. A local church food pantry picks up the leftovers promptly at 7:30, and the staff of P.S. 56, who generously allow us to use the school's cafeteria for our pick ups, requests that we finish our distribution at that time. We absolutely cannot and will not hold shares for anyone beyond 7:30pm. Please be sure to give yourself enough time to collect your share. You are always welcome to send someone to pick it up for you if you are running late or are out of town, they'll just need to give your name at the front desk.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME
Bags and other containers for collecting your share. We recommend saving used plastic containers for picking up more delicate items, like herbs and tomatoes, as well as brining reusable bags.
Your checkbook if you still owe us money. If you have any questions regarding payment, email our treasurers, Liz and Sarah, at treasurer@clintonhillcsa.org, or touch base with them at the first pick up. They will be there to answer any invoicing or payment questions you have.
