Today we wanted to let you know about some updates for this coming season and alert you that sign ups will begin soon. When sign ups begin, in March, they are first-come, first-serve, so please register as soon as you receive our registration email if you'd like to join us for this season. We limit registration to returning members for two weeks only before opening it up to the wait list.
Here are some updates we have for you today:
1. 2015 Income Guidelines
This year, share prices are increasing by 1.5% from last year. We have also decided to adjust our income guidelines for Plans A and B, to better reflect the needs of our community and the pricing models used by other CSAs around New York City. Here are those updated income guidelines and prices for 2015:
- Plan A Households: Single adults earning $ over 40,000 / 2 or more adults earning over $65,000 in combined income
- Plan B Households: Single adults earning $40,000 or less / 2 or more adults earning $65,000 or less in combined income
- Plan C Households: Any household receiving SNAP Benefits can apply for Plan C.
2. Half Shares Now Available
Another major update to our CSA will be the introduction of Half Shares. Like many other CSAs in New York City, CHCSA will now offer two styles of shares, Full Shares and Half Shares. Full Shares will work as they always have, with 22 weeks of pick-ups, and Half Shares will operate on an every-other-week schedule, giving those members 11 weeks of pick-ups. Members who choose a Half Share will be assigned either to WEEK A or WEEK B and will pick up their full share of vegetables on their assigned week. Half shares have been requested by many of our members in the past, and we looking forward to offering them this year.
- Plan A Full Share: $575 / Plan A Half Share: $288
- Plan B Full Share: $365 / Plan B Half Share: $183

3. We Appreciate Your Patience! Thank you!
As many of you have noticed, we have been having trouble with our website and emails this past month. We are working hard to come to a seamless web solution, and appreciate your patience while we fix these issues. 4. Core Positions Open
Our CSA has operated since 2002 thanks to the tireless efforts of our dedicated Core Members. Now we are looking for two more folks to join our team. For the upcoming season, we need a new Distribution Manager and an Outreach Coordinator. Both roles require a flexible schedule, though the time commitment varies depending on the month. If you or someone you know would be a good fit for either of these roles, please contact us at email@example.com to hear more.
